RWE signals the attack: Major investment in wind power strengthens green portfolio

RWE and Nordex Seal Mega-Deal: 800 MW Wind Turbines for the Future of Green Energy.

On the sidelines of the WindEurope Conference in Bilbao, RWE and Nordex made a groundbreaking step towards the future of wind energy: A comprehensive contract for the supply of wind turbines with a total capacity of 800 megawatts (MW) was signed. This agreement consolidates the longstanding cooperation between the energy company RWE and the wind turbine manufacturer Nordex and paves the way for the delivery of about 120 wind turbines for RWE's projects in European markets within the next 2.5 years.

In addition to the supply contract, the companies have also entered into a multi-year service agreement that covers the maintenance and upkeep of the onshore wind farms, to ensure the operational readiness and efficiency of the facilities. Although the financial terms of the agreement were not made public, the partnership highlights the shared commitment of both companies to the promotion of sustainable energy solutions.

The collaboration between RWE and Nordex is not new; RWE already operates 53 wind farms with Nordex installations in seven different countries. This renewed contract signing reaffirms the confidence in the quality and reliability of Nordex wind turbines and their contribution to achieving RWE's renewable energy goals.

The positive expectations were reflected on the stock exchange: While the RWE stock gained 0.42 percent to 31.17 Euros at times in XETRA trading, the Nordex stock recorded a remarkable increase of 5.34 percent to 12.04 Euros. This indicates that investors recognize the potential of this partnership for growth and development in the field of wind energy.
