New Features for Businesses: Meta's advertising platform makes it easier to create and manage ads.

Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, introduces an expanded range of generative AI tools for advertisers, another step by the company to integrate artificial intelligence into its consumer products. The new features, unveiled on Tuesday, enable Meta's 10 million advertisers to upload images of their products to generate new versions of the images and accompanying texts for marketing purposes. These tools build on previous features that allowed ad customers to make simple image changes and include text generation, which will soon be supported by Meta's latest version of its large language model, Llama 3.

The Functions Available to Advertising Companies Using Meta's Advertising Platform for Creating and Managing Their Ads Are Being Rolled Out Gradually. Meta Plans to Make the Tools Available Worldwide by the End of the Year. Advertising Accounted for More Than 97% of Meta's Revenue in the First Quarter.

Meta has significantly invested in its generative AI technology. Last month, the company released Llama 3 and announced plans to increasingly integrate the technology into apps like Instagram and WhatsApp. Llama 3 can instantly generate images and provide users with article summaries.

Last month, Meta increased its capital expenditure plans for this year to $35 to $40 billion, compared with the previously forecasted $30 to $37 billion, due to investments in AI. The company expects that expenditures will continue to rise next year.

Alphabet's Google announced in February a similar expansion of AI advertising features that enables advertisers to generate images for their marketing.
