Würth Warns Employees Against Voting for the AfD

One of the most distinctive voices of the German economy, titled the "Screw King," Reinhold Würth, has released a significant political statement that primarily concerns the employees of his corporate group. In a detailed letter, Würth, who built a fortune with his business acumen, clarifies his critical view of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) and appeals to his staff not to support this party simply out of a vague discomfort with the current government constellation. The 88-year-old self-made billionaire regards the temptation to make a protest vote on a whim as inadequately justified. Würth speaks of a Germany where there is no shortage, people live in orderly circumstances, and have access to a commendable healthcare system and moderate working hours. He insists that often achievements are taken for granted and not appreciated, which can lead to a distorted perception. In his address, the entrepreneur also comments on the federal government. He views the traffic-light coalition critically and describes it, using vivid language, as poorly coordinated, but acknowledges that it has initiated some positive legislative actions. Usually, Würth and his group avoid political comments, but in light of the situation with the AfD, he feels compelled to take a public stance, which he believes is in line with the majority of the German population. The Würth Group, which employs more than 87,000 people, reported one of the highest profits in its company history last fiscal year despite a decline in operating profit before taxes. This highlights the economic significance of the conglomerate and lends additional weight to Würth's warnings.
