The Vienna Stock Exchange ended the trading week with a setback. The ATX was on a downturn and recorded a decline of 0.83 percent, causing the market barometer to fall to 3,384.84 points. This trend resulted in a weekly overall balance of 0.64 percent in the negative range. Although the European and US market environments did not send clear signals, the Ifo Business Climate from Germany attracted special attention. The index, reflecting the sentiment in German executive floors, rose to 85.5 points, thus meeting market forecasts. The news situation at the corporate level provided hardly any impetus. Nevertheless, prominent players in the ATX registered clear price losses. For example, the oil company OMV lost a significant 2.31 percent. An even stronger decline was experienced by Raiffeisen Bank International with a minus of 3.57 percent. BAWAG Group saw a price drop of 1.36 percent. On the other hand, Erste Group Bank was able to keep the losses comparatively contained at 0.58 percent. The shares of AT&S, which had a price decrease of 1.08 percent to close at 20.12 euros, should not go unmentioned. This level corresponds to the status as of the end of 2020, which has put the securities on a descending price track since February 13, with the exception of a slight recovery the previous day.
