Scholz Cheers: Eli Lilly Plant Boosts Germany!

Scholz Celebrates Eli Lilly's New Production Facility in Alzey: "A Great Signal for Germany!"

With the groundbreaking for a new production facility of the US pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly in Alzey, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) sets a sign for the strengthening of Germany as a pharmaceutical and industrial location. The investment of around 2.3 billion euros and the creation of up to 1,000 jobs are a "fantastic signal for the attractiveness" of the location, Scholz emphasized. Eli Lilly's commitment underscores the confidence in the economic power and the innovative capacity of Rhineland-Palatinate as well as Germany as a whole.

The Rhineland-Palatinate Minister-President Malu Dreyer (SPD) emphasized that the investment is the result of successful collaboration between the economy, science, and politics, positioning the federal state as a leading biotechnology location. According to the chairman and CEO of Eli Lilly, Dave Ricks, the new high-tech production site will ensure a reliable supply of safe and high-quality pharmaceuticals. He thanked the German authorities for their support and stressed the importance of reliable conditions that promote innovation.

The announcement of the construction of this state-of-the-art facility in Alzey highlights the efforts of the German government to strengthen the country's pharmaceutical strategy and to further improve health, research, and economic policy conditions. At the same time, it reflects international confidence in the German market. Meanwhile, Eli Lilly's stock recorded a slight decline of 0.92 percent to 777.02 US dollars in NYSE trading, a sign of the dynamic movements on the global market.
