Above Expectations: Delivery Target for 2023 Slightly Exceeded

According to industry sources, Airbus, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, has been able to slightly exceed its delivery target for the past year with a final push.

Airbus, the world's largest aircraft manufacturer, slightly exceeded its delivery target for the past year, according to insiders. A total of 730 jets were delivered from January to December, according to the news agency Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources. This enabled the company to surpass its original goal of delivering 720 aircraft. As of the end of November 2022, the delivery number was still at 623 airplanes. The company did not comment on this to Bloomberg. Official figures are expected later this month.

Traditionally, aircraft deliveries at Airbus peak towards the end of the year. The management is doing everything possible to achieve or even exceed the annual goals at the last minute. In December 2022, nearly 100 aircraft were delivered to customers. The same number was required in December 2023 to meet the goal of Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury. Despite initially sluggish deliveries in 2023, Faury remained committed to his goal. However, he had to revise the delivery outlook downward twice the previous year.

The share of Airbus temporarily recorded an increase of 0.14 percent to 140.28 euros in XETRA trading. The exceeded delivery figures may have contributed to this slight price gain. However, investors are generally positive as the aviation industry is on the path of recovery due to the improvement in air traffic.

Despite the challenges of the past year caused by the pandemic and the associated delays in aircraft production and delivery, Airbus remains confident. The company plans to continue focusing on growth and innovation in the future. This was also reaffirmed by CEO Guillaume Faury in a statement on the annual results.

He emphasized that the company would further expand its production capacity and focus on the introduction of new, more environmentally friendly aircraft models. The demand for aircraft continues to rise, especially in the emerging markets of Asia and the Middle East. This provides Airbus with the opportunity to further expand its market leadership and establish itself as a pioneer in the aircraft industry.

Airbus remains confident for the current year. The company expects a stable demand from airlines and already has orders for over 1000 aircraft in its books. The announced innovations regarding alternative propulsion and improved efficiency will also help to further strengthen Airbus's position as a leading aircraft manufacturer.

Investors can continue to rely on a positive development of Airbus, both in terms of business and stocks. With a clear vision for the future and a strong focus on innovation, the company will continue to be at the forefront of the global aircraft industry.
