BMW with sales boost: significant increase in the fourth quarter

BMW was able to increase its revenue again last year, thanks in particular to a strong final quarter.

BMW continues its successful course and once again achieves an increase thanks to a strong final quarter. With a total of 2.56 million vehicles sold last year, the Munich-based DAX corporation recorded a 6.5 percent increase compared to the previous year.

According to company information, this represents a record value. BMW was particularly successful in the field of fully electric cars, with the share of total sales increasing as planned to 15 percent. The BMW brand saw an impressive increase in the sales of battery-electric cars by 92.2 percent, which corresponds to 330,596 vehicles sold. For the new year, BMW has set the goal of selling over half a million fully electric vehicles in total, which will then account for one-fifth of all new cars.

Sales in BMW's most important market China also developed particularly positively, with the BMW and Mini brands increasing by 4.2 percent to 824,932 cars compared to the previous year. This once again demonstrates the strong presence and popularity of the brand in this market.

Investors initially reacted cautiously to the result on the stock exchange, which was reflected in a temporary weakening of BMW shares by 0.16 percent to 101.04 euros via XETRA. However, the future outlook for the car maker remains promising, especially with regard to the increasingly strong demand for electric vehicles.

BMW consistently pursues its goal of establishing itself as a leading provider in the field of electromobility. By planning to increase sales of fully electric cars and continuously expanding its product portfolio, the company will also play a significant role in the market in the future. Investors can look forward to a sustainable and promising future perspective of the company.
