Allianz Leben increases interest rates for life insurance for the second consecutive year

Increase in Interest Rates for Retirement Classic Product at Allianz Leben in 2023 Leads to Higher Returns in 2024

As CEO of Allianz Life Insurance, Katja de la Viña expressed her delight at the increase in interest rates and emphasized their positive impact on retirement provision. The current interest rate is composed of the surplus participation, which is determined by insurers depending on the economic situation and the success of the investment strategy, and the guaranteed interest rate set by the Federal Ministry of Finance. The latter has been set at 0.25 percent for new contracts since the beginning of 2022, while older policies may still yield even higher interest rates.

It is important to note that the ongoing interest rate only affects the savings portion after deducting closing and distribution costs. At the end of the contract period, the final surplus is added. So it's no wonder that other life insurances have announced higher interest rates for the coming year in light of the end of the low interest rate period.

So far, Allianz Leben has not been able to observe any significant terminations of existing contracts due to high inflation, according to Volker Priebe. The interest of people in retirement provision with continuous or lump sum contributions is still high. The Allianz share only lost 0.06 percent in XETRA trading and closed at 235.10 euros. A solid performance considering the current market developments.

In conclusion, it should be said that the higher interest rates offered by Allianz Leben are a clear indication of the importance of retirement provision and offer an attractive option for retirement and investment opportunities. Allianz is thus a reliable and strong partner for its customers in terms of finances and retirement provisions.
