Australian company TPG Telecom has agreed to sell its fiber infrastructure and fixed-line business for corporate, government, and wholesale customers to the Vocus Group. The transaction has an impressive value of 5.25 billion Australian dollars (3.5 billion US dollars). Under the agreement, Vocus will continue to provide fixed-line services to TPG. This strategic decision marks the end of a comprehensive review of TPG's fiber network. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2025 and is projected to generate net cash inflows for TPG between 4.65 and 4.75 billion Australian dollars. According to TPG CEO Iñaki Berroeta, the agreement offers the opportunity to focus the business while optimizing the capital structure. Supported by Macquarie Asset Management and Aware Super, Vocus will own or lease a network of over 50,000 kilometers of fiber upon completion.
