The U.S. Department of Defense has announced a comprehensive weapons aid package worth 725 million U.S. dollars to support Ukraine. This move follows the release of a second shipment of anti-personnel mines authorized by President Joe Biden. The now 71st Presidential Drawdown Authority package represents the largest since April, when the U.S. government provided an aid package of 1 billion U.S. dollars. In addition to battery-powered, time-activated mines, the current package includes air defense missiles as well as Javelin, TOW, and AT-4 anti-tank weapons. The delivery is complemented by anti-drone munitions, 155-mm artillery shells, and special equipment to protect critical national infrastructure. These strategic support measures underscore the ongoing commitment of the United States to strengthen Ukraine in its defense struggle and be prepared for new threat scenarios.
