In a rare joint public event after the elections, U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris appeared before Democratic Party donors on Sunday. The event was intended to express gratitude to the supporters who had raised over $2 billion during the unsuccessful 2024 election campaign while simultaneously encouraging Democrats to continue fighting for their values.
Kamala Harris emphasized that the party's fighting spirit remained unbroken. "Our will is not broken. We are strong because we know what we stand for and what must be defended," she stressed in her speech at a festive gathering of the Democratic National Committee. She urged attendees not to let circumstances or individuals take away their power.
Biden added how important it is to get back up after a setback. "As my father said, when you get knocked down, you have to get back up. True strength is shown in how quickly you get back on your feet," he explained.
