Afghanistan's spin sensation Rashid Khan will make a comeback in Test cricket during a two-match Test series in Zimbabwe. The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed that the series will begin later this month and Rashid will don the green Test jersey again. Rashid Khan, who last played a Test against Zimbabwe in March 2021, had taken a break from the Test format due to a recurring groin injury. The leg-spinner played a key role in the Afghan white-ball team, which reached the T20 World Cup semi-finals this year and will also inspire them in their debut at the Champion’s Trophy next year. "The return of Rashid Khan to the Test squad is a positive step for our ambitions in red-ball cricket," explained Ahmad Shah Sulimankhil, the chief selector of the Afghan national cricket team, with significance. For the series starting on December 26 in Bulawayo, Afghanistan has nominated seven uncapped players. Alongside all-rounder Ismat Alam, left-arm spinner Zahir Shehzad and left-arm fast bowler Bashir Ahmad Afghan received a call-up due to their impressive performances in the domestic cricket scene.
