Amazon creates 1,000 new jobs in Dummerstorf near Rostock – significant growth for the region.

The US shipping company Amazon plans to open a new logistics center in Dummerstorf near Rostock, creating 1,000 new jobs. The company announced this in a press release on Monday.

The new logistics center is set to initially commence partial operations in the fall. This year, around 450 people are expected to be hired, with an additional 550 jobs to be added next year.

Amazon expects the number of permanent employees in Germany to rise to 40,000 by the end of the year. The employees are currently working in 21 logistics centers, ten sorting centers, and more than 60 distribution centers across the country.

The announcement comes at a time when the company is further expanding its presence and capacities in Europe. The expansion in Dummerstorf is part of the strategy to strengthen logistics networks and increase supply chain efficiency.

Despite the Positive News, Amazon's Stock Lost 0.36 Percent in NASDAQ Trading and Closed at $199.29.

The new jobs are an important step for the region and will help to strengthen the local economy and create new opportunities for the workforce in Dummerstorf and the surrounding area.
