The Philadelphia Phillies continue their impressive success. Notably, pitcher Cristopher Sánchez shines with an exceptional performance and was called up as a replacement for Chris Sale of the Atlanta Braves to the National League All-Star team. Sale, celebrating his eighth consecutive All-Star nomination, will start for the Braves on Sunday. For Sánchez, who is participating in his first All-Star Game, this represents the provisional peak of a remarkable development. Just last week, he signed a four-year contract worth $22.5 million, sources from The Athletic confirm. The contract includes two club options for 2029 and 2030 valued at $14 million and $15 million, respectively. This season, the 27-year-old boasts a record of 7-4, an ERA of 2.96, and a WHIP of 1.23 in 103 1/3 innings. With this, the Phillies lead the MLB with three All-Star starters. Alongside Sánchez, Bryce Harper, Alec Bohm, and Trea Turner will also represent the team. In total, eight Phillies players are included in the All-Star roster, marking a new club record. The previous best was seven players this year before Sánchez's nomination; previously, the Phillies had fielded five All-Stars in six different seasons (2011, 2009, 1995, 1981, 1979, and 1976). With a league-best record of 61-33 and an impressive run differential of +119, the Phillies enter the break as the only team with at least 60 wins.
