Hyundai has made a significant personnel decision by appointing Randy Parker as the new CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America. His term is set to begin on January 1, 2025. Currently, Parker is already leading the business operations of Hyundai Motor America as CEO. In his new role, he will oversee all operations and functions of the brand in the USA, Canada, and Mexico for Hyundai, and in the USA and Canada for Genesis. Additionally, Parker will take on responsibility for Hyundai's production facilities in Alabama and Georgia. He succeeds José Muñoz, who is advancing to President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. Muñoz praised Parker's leadership qualities and his achievements in sales as well as in collaboration with dealers, customers, employees, and other stakeholders. Prior to his promotion to head of Hyundai Motor America in August 2022, a historic appointment as the first African American CEO of a major regional automotive brand, Parker had already held senior positions at INFINITI North America, General Motors, and Nissan. Parker himself is honored by his new position and emphasizes the importance of the North American market for Hyundai.
