The German vehicle manufacturer Daimler Truck was ordered by the regional labor court in Brazil to pay 40 million Reais (approximately 6.6 million Euros) in compensation. The ruling found that workers who sustained injuries on the job were subjected to "isolated, bullying, and humiliating situations" upon returning to the plant in Campinas. Additionally, cases of racist discrimination were reported at the São Paulo state plant.

Mercedes Benz do Brasil, a subsidiary of Daimler Truck, responded to the decision by stating that the company does not comment on ongoing cases and emphasizes that all measures are taken to respect and protect the health and safety of employees.

The civil lawsuit was filed by the public prosecutor's office and allows Daimler Truck to appeal the verdict in the Supreme Labor Court (TST). In addition to financial compensation, the verdict requires the company to develop internal programs to prevent harassment and discrimination in the workplace in the future.
