The Cooperation Between Chinese Technology Giant Huawei and U.S. Chip Maker Intel, Involving a New Intel AI Chip Integrated into Huawei's Latest Laptop Model, the MateBook X Pro, Has Provoked Fierce Criticism from U.S. Republican Lawmakers. They Sharply Criticize the Biden Administration and Accuse It of Undermining the 'National Security of the USA.' Since 2019, Huawei Has Been on a U.S. Blacklist, Imposing Strict Trade Restrictions on the Company due to Violations of Iran Sanctions.

The relevant collaboration already has a license dating back to the term of President Trump, allowing the export of central processors for laptops to Huawei. Despite the pressure from some politicians, this license has not been revoked to date and remains valid. However, it is set to expire this year and will not be renewed.

Michael Gallagher, Republican Congressman and Chairman of the House Special Committee on China, Criticizes Continued Approval by the Commerce Department for the Supply of US Technology to Huawei. Elise Stefanik, another Republican Representative, Publicly Criticized the Government on Platform X for its Policy Toward China.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the delivery of the chips was made under an already existing license, which is not affected by new restrictions on the supply of AI chips to China. The Department of Commerce as well as the companies involved, Huawei and Intel, have so far not issued any statements regarding the current allegations.
