After Varta became the target of a hacker attack in mid-February, the battery conglomerate continues to face challenges. As a direct consequence, the Ellwangen-based company had to postpone the release of its annual financial report, which was originally planned for March 28. Varta is now aiming for a publication date after April 30, although this has yet to be specified. The annual general meeting scheduled for May 23 must also be postponed to a later date, a move that has significantly put pressure on the company's share price.

The attack in February forced Varta to preemptively shut down its IT systems, which had a significant impact on the completion and review of financial reports. The restriction on access to key financial information and business documents continues, even though the group has since regained partial access to its IT systems. Production has been largely resumed, although significant disruptions persist.

The Uncertainty Caused by This Cyber Attack Among Varta Investors is Clearly Reflected in the Share Price. Following the announcement of the annual report's postponement and the cancellation of the general meeting, the stock temporarily fell by 8.4 percent to a record low on Friday before the loss was later reduced to 3.19 percent at 13.83 euros.

About a Month After the Cyber Attack, Most Production Has Resumed, but the Exact Impact of the Attack on Varta's Business Cannot Yet Be Fully Assessed. Varta Continues to Work Intensively on the Gradual Restoration of Its Systems. Despite Initial Progress in Resuming Production and Partial Access to IT Systems, the Situation Remains Challenging. Limited Access to Essential Financial Data and Documents Slows Down the Finalization and Review of Financial Reports, Evidencing the Long-Lasting Effects a Cyber Attack Can Have on a Company.
