Salesforce, a competitor of SAP, is reportedly on the verge of acquiring data management software provider Informatica, according to a report by "The Wall Street Journal".

The negotiations between the two companies are said to be already in an advanced stage.

However, there are discrepancies regarding the takeover price, which, as a result of a significant increase in Informatica's share prices this year, is now below the current market price.

On Friday, the Informatica stock closed at a price of $38.48, which represents an increase of nearly 50% for the year, driven by speculation about a possible takeover.
