Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex secured a significant order. As the company announced, traded on the MDAX and TecDAX indices, it received the contract from investment company Renewable Power Capital in late 2023 for the construction of four wind farms in Sweden with a total capacity of 553 megawatts (MW). The contract also includes the premium-plus turbine service for a period of 35 years. Delivery and installation of the 80 turbines are scheduled for spring 2025.

The wind farms called "High Coast" span four wind fields in the province of Västerorrlands Län: Knäsjöberget (98 MW), Sörlidberget (140 MW), Vitberget (161 MW), and Storhöjden (154 MW). The decision by Renewable Power Capital underscores the growing interest in renewable energy in Sweden and represents an important step for the country's development in terms of sustainability.

Nordex initially received a positive response from investors at the stock exchange. The stock prices benefited from a strong start to the year and the prestigious major order from Sweden. However, there was a dramatic turnaround throughout the day, and the stock prices fell by 6.61 percent to 9.82 euros. As a result, a large portion of the orders acquired by Nordex in the third quarter of 2023 will be covered solely by the Swedish order.

Especially positive to note is that Nordex has also been commissioned to maintain the turbines for a period of 35 years. This long-term partnership underscores Renewable Power Capital's trust in the reliability and quality of Nordex technology. With this new contract, Nordex can continue to rely on strong growth and establish itself as an important player in the renewable energy sector.

The financing for the project has already been secured in advance by entering into long-term contracts with electricity consumers. This ensures a continuous source of income for Nordex. This strategy has proven successful in the past, as Nordex has over a decade of experience in the renewable energy sector and can look back on many successful projects.

The mega order from Sweden is an important milestone for Nordex and underscores the company's position as a trusted partner in the renewable energy sector. With this project, Nordex will not only strengthen its position as one of the leading manufacturers of wind turbines but also make a significant contribution to the promotion of clean energy.
