Unrest continues in Grünheide: Activists from the protest camp against Tesla's factory expansion announce intensified protest actions for the next week. The "Stop Tesla" initiative is planning a series of events together with the alliance initiative "Turn off Tesla" and the coalition of anti-capitalist climate protection movements "Disrupt". This includes protests directly in Grünheide and a demonstration in Potsdam, the capital of Brandenburg.

The actions are to include, in addition to classic demonstrations, "decentralized protests and civil disobedience," explained a spokesperson from "Disrupt". Workshops are also part of the program to further educate participants on climate protection and to mobilize resistance against the expansion of the Tesla car factory.

At the center of criticism is the planned clearing of a wooded area for the factory expansion, which already faced opposition from the majority of Grünheide residents in a local survey. The municipality has suggested reducing the clearing to about half.

In the forest near the factory, between 20 and 100 people live in a protest camp. They sleep in tree structures or tents and have occupied the area since the end of February. Attempts by the police to enforce strict conditions recently failed at the Administrative Court in Potsdam, even though the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior classifies the forest occupiers as a potential fire hazard. Currently, there is a medium risk of forest fires in Brandenburg, which according to the German Weather Service is expected to decrease in the coming days.

These protest actions symbolize another climax in the dispute over the environmental and climate policy implications of Tesla's industrial expansion in Germany.
