Remarkable sales figures were recorded by Ms Min, an independent designer brand that was able to suddenly sell high volumes through a simple introduction in a livestream. This influence makes Xiaohongshu an exciting player in lifestyle marketing and e-commerce. Although the platform is still far from major names like Tmall, JD.com, and Pinduoduo in terms of the gigantism of GMV (Gross Merchandise Volume), current developments show a clear sign of a new beginning. It remains to be seen whether Xiaohongshu will truly become a serious competitor in the coming years or continue to be successful in its niche.
