Turkey is in final negotiations with the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD to establish a production facility worth approximately one billion US dollars in the western part of the country. This significant investment could sustainably drive the growth of Turkey's electric vehicle industry. It is expected that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will officially announce this landmark agreement next Monday during a ceremony in Manisa Province, where the factory is to be built. The authority requested discretion, as the officials were not authorized to speak publicly about it. So far, there has been no comment from either BYD or the Turkish presidency on the forthcoming deal. With BYD, China's best-selling electric vehicle brand, Turkey aims to form a strong partnership to further expand its position in the rapidly growing electric mobility market. This strategic collaboration could not only create new jobs but also contribute to the ecological modernization of the automotive sector in the region.
