Former President Donald J. Trump expressed his willingness on Tuesday to possibly engage in a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. In a conversation with reporters organized by the Republican Party, Trump emphasized that he is 'absolutely' ready for multiple debates. This announcement comes after Harris secured enough delegate votes to secure the Democratic presidential nomination. Interestingly, Trump showed little enthusiasm for the prospect of ABC News hosting such a debate. This is a somewhat ironic twist, as he and the incumbent President Joe Biden had agreed months ago to participate in a debate hosted by ABC News in September. This is the second time this week that Trump has attempted to change the conditions for a debate. On Sunday, immediately after Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race, Trump called on Truth Social to move the planned ABC debate to Fox News, a network that is generally more favorable to him. Although Trump had insisted for months that he would debate Biden anytime and anywhere, he clarified that this commitment was only for a contest against Biden. Consequently, it remains exciting to see if and under what conditions Trump and Harris will eventually face each other.
