Donald Trump, the former Republican President, holds a slight advantage over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris in a recent Wall Street Journal poll regarding who could better lead the US through the geopolitical crises in Ukraine and the Middle East. In the poll conducted across seven key swing states, both candidates are overall evenly matched, heightening the anticipation ahead of the presidential election in November. Interestingly, the poll shows Harris leading narrowly by about two percentage points in Arizona, Georgia, and Michigan, while Trump leads in Nevada by six and in Pennsylvania by one percentage point. In North Carolina and Wisconsin, the race remains tied. The poll, conducted from September 28 to October 8 among 600 registered voters in each of the seven states, has a margin of error of four percentage points. These results reflect other surveys indicating a tight race as Americans grapple with issues such as the economy, immigration, women's rights, and democratic values. A Reuters/Ipsos poll also shows a close national contest, with Harris slightly ahead at 46% compared to Trump’s 43%. The WSJ poll highlights that Trump leads clearly in the seven swing states concerning the handling of the Ukraine conflict, with 50% to 39%. Additionally, 48% see Trump as better suited to address the Israel-Hamas conflict compared to 33% for Harris. While more voters support Trump on economic and immigration matters, they view Harris as stronger on issues related to housing and healthcare, as well as in her ability to address their personal concerns, according to the poll results.
