During a recently held robotaxi event, Tesla's humanoid robot 'Optimus' became the absolute star of the show. The robots impressed the audience with dance performances, served drinks, and provided plenty of entertainment. However, one detail sparked conversation: as Bloomberg News has now confirmed, the robots were indeed remotely controlled by humans during the event. This revelation stems from a video circulated by a user on platform X. In it, he asks an Optimus acting as a bartender if it is being operated remotely. The robot's prompt response: "Today I am being assisted by a human. I am not yet fully autonomous." Tesla CEO Elon Musk faces some criticism due to this revelation, as he had not disclosed the use of remote control. Nonetheless, he expressed a futuristically optimistic view of Optimus's potential. He stated that the robot could eventually become Tesla's largest product, serving as a teacher, babysitter, or even a simple friend. Additionally, he aims to price the robot one day below the price of a car, specifically between $20,000 and $30,000. Canaccord Genuity analyst George Gianarikas reacted calmly to the criticism regarding remote control. In a memo to his clients, he remarked succinctly: "So what!" He emphasized the extraordinary skill and development progress of the robots, as well as Tesla's potential to become a leading company in the field of robotics, thanks to its extensive internal resources.
