The OCP Group and ENGIE have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the energy transition within the OCP Group and contribute to Morocco's broader energy transformation. At the heart of this collaboration are ambitious projects in the fields of renewable energy, energy storage, green hydrogen, and sustainable desalination, complemented by research and innovation in line with decarbonization efforts. One of the core strategies of the agreement is the potential establishment of a joint venture between the OCP Group and ENGIE to develop and manage four large-scale industrial projects. These include expanding renewable energy capacities with storage solutions, constructing on-site electrical infrastructures, producing green ammonia, and conducting feasibility studies for other green hydrogen derivatives such as e-methanol. Additionally, the establishment of desalination capacities for agricultural use is planned. According to the Chairman and CEO of the OCP Group, the partnership with ENGIE supports the commitment to sustainable growth, focusing on energy innovations and decarbonization. The alliance aims to further enhance the international competitiveness of the OCP Group in the field of renewable energy and ensure a sustainable future for coming generations. ENGIE's CEO, Catherine MacGregor, also emphasizes the shared vision of energy transition with an integrated and diversified approach to technological solutions. This collaboration will advance the development of low-carbon energy solutions and strengthen Morocco's industrial ecosystem by expanding ENGIE's presence in the country and positioning both groups as key players in Morocco's decarbonization. The projects are an integral part of the OCP Group's strategy to reduce its CO₂ footprint and support Morocco's energy transition. The agreement also highlights an R&D agenda to enhance the competitiveness of the collaboration and promote innovative solutions in the energy sector. In addition to tackling the energy and environmental challenges of the OCP Group, the partnership also addresses Morocco's ambitious energy transition goals by creating a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape. Furthermore, the partnership is expected to strengthen the local industrial ecosystem, bringing economic and technological benefits to the nation.
