The British low-cost airline EasyJet has announced an experienced new addition to strengthen its leadership team. Jan De Raeymaeker, previously the Chief Financial Officer at the European rail freight company Lineas, will take over as CFO at EasyJet starting January 20. He succeeds Kenton Jarvis, who will assume the role of CEO of the company. De Raeymaeker, a Belgian national, is no stranger to the aviation industry. Prior to his position at Lineas, he served as the CFO at Brussels Airlines. As the new CFO, he will not only manage finances but also oversee strategic business areas such as fleet management, risk analysis, and hedging. A spokesperson for the airline emphasized that De Raeymaeker's extensive experience and expertise are essential elements for the company's planned realignment. This leadership change follows the announcement by the current CEO Johan Lundgren to step down in early 2025. Lundgren led EasyJet through the challenging pandemic period and contributed to a significant recovery. The appointment of Jarvis as the new CEO starting in January is seen as a strategic move to ensure continuity in company leadership.
