Motive, the company behind an AI-based integrated operations platform, has unveiled a groundbreaking service at the American Trucking Associations conference. The new 'First Responder' feature, developed in collaboration with RapidSOS, aims to improve the response time of emergency services to commercial vehicle accidents. Ryan Plutnicki, Chief Customer Officer of Motive, stated: "Safety on our roads is at risk." The accident statistics from July 2023 to July 2024 alone show alarming trends, especially in high-severity accidents. Motive has addressed this safety gap with their First Responder technology, which, similar to smartwatches during falls, establishes an immediate connection to emergency services. This technology enables the detection of 99% of accidents within seconds and relays the information directly to users via the Motive Fleet App. The system ensures that emergency services are notified more quickly, thereby saving crucial seconds. In remote areas with poor network coverage, the system offers alternative communication channels and stores relevant data on Motive's hardware. Thanks to integration with the RapidSOS system, dispatch centers in the USA, Mexico, and Canada now have access to detailed accident information. Jennifer White, Director of Partnerships at RapidSOS, emphasized the advantage of the partnership: "Over 21,000 emergency organizations can view the data in real-time." From now on, the 'First Responder' feature is available to all users of the Motive system—at no additional cost.
