The French energy provider Engie announces a groundbreaking agreement with Meta Platforms, the parent company of Facebook. Under this agreement, Meta will procure 100% of the energy produced from the Sypert solar plant in the USA. This cooperation underscores Meta's ambitions to increasingly rely on renewable energies and improve its environmental footprint.
The commissioning of the solar plant is planned for the end of 2025. With this initiative, Engie complements its already substantial capacity of renewable energy sources in North America. The company has an impressive portfolio of about 8 gigawatts, which includes solar, wind, and energy storage projects, either in operation or under construction.
This agreement highlights both Engie's commitment to green power and Meta's endeavor to support its business activities with sustainable energy solutions. Both companies are thus positioning themselves as pioneers in the field of renewable energies.
