A devastating fire at a natural gas liquefied gas pipeline in La Porte, Texas, is keeping residents restless even on the second day. The blaze, which has been relentlessly burning since Monday morning, has already led to widespread power outages and forced thousands of people to evacuate. Fortunately, despite the dramatic circumstances, there have been no severe injuries. Energy Transfer, the company operating the pipeline, reported that the line was isolated by noon, allowing the remaining gas to burn off in a controlled manner. Nevertheless, the fear of potential explosions remains pervasive among many residents. "Yes, I fear an explosion. Not really fear, but more concern. Still, we have to keep going," a local resident explained. Interestingly, some locals have become accustomed to smaller incidents of this nature. "We've had small explosions at the facilities here over the years. It's somehow part of life here," commented a former employee of the local chemical plants, who has been retired since 2012. The exact cause of the fire is still unclear. The state regulatory authority, Texas Railroad Commission, announced it would begin investigations once responders deem the site secure. Energy Transfer assured affected property owners that they would be accommodated in nearby hotels until the evacuation orders are lifted.
