Israel's Diplomatic Withdrawal: Embassy Closure in Dublin

Israel has decided to close its embassy in the Irish capital, Dublin. This move follows criticism from the Israeli Foreign Minister regarding the policies of the Irish government perceived as "extremely anti-Israeli." Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, who has recently taken over leadership of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, expressed concern over Ireland's support for a South African initiative. This includes a lawsuit before the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of genocide. Another point of contention for Israel was Ireland's decision to recognize a Palestinian state earlier in the year. This recognition had already led to Israel recalling its ambassador from Ireland.
