India has increased its iron ore production by an impressive 7.4% in the first five months of the current fiscal year. According to government data, 116 million metric tons of iron ore were produced from April to August this year, compared to 108 million metric tons in the same period last year. The Ministry of Mines emphasizes that iron ore constitutes 70% of the total value of mineral production in India. These increases reflect robust demand in the downstream industries, the ministry explained, highlighting the positive development of the Indian mining industry. The production of aluminum rose by 1.3% to 1.8 million tons in the same period. Refined copper production also saw growth, increasing by 5.8% to 202,000 tons. The continuous increases in the production of these essential raw materials indicate strong and stable economic performance, making India a significant player in the global raw materials market.
