The Golden State Warriors plan to acquire point guard Dennis Schroder from the Brooklyn Nets. In return, the injured guard De'Anthony Melton will be sent to Brooklyn along with three second-round picks. As part of the deal, Brooklyn is also expected to send a second-round pick to the Warriors.
Currently, in his 12th NBA season, Schroder is delivering impressive performances: averaging 18.4 points and 6.6 assists in 23 games for the Nets – a personal best. Additionally, the 31-year-old excels with a three-point shooting percentage of 38.7 percent and an average of 1.1 steals per game.
For Schroder, who has played for seven teams in the NBA, the Warriors will be the eighth stop in his career. He laid the foundation for his career with five seasons at the Atlanta Hawks before beginning to rotate through various teams.
However, the planned trade can only be completed on Sunday, when Melton becomes tradable according to the regulations. Melton, who underwent surgery on December 4th due to a torn ACL in his left knee, will not play another game this season. However, a full recovery is expected before the start of the 2025-26 season. Prior to this, Melton averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in six games this season.
Overall, Melton can look back on a career with averages of 9.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 356 games for the Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and now the Warriors. Modern Financial Markets Data
