The investigations into the death of D'Vontaye Mitchell, who died under unexplained circumstances in front of a hotel in Milwaukee late last month, are intensifying. The Milwaukee Police Department announced on Friday that it has forwarded serious murder charges against four individuals to the District Attorney's Office for review. The incident, which occurred on June 30, took place in front of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee when security personnel detained the 43-year-old Mitchell. In addition to the murder charge, an assault charge has also been filed. The identities of the four suspected individuals remain unnamed so far. The forwarding of the charges took place on July 5 to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office, which has not yet commented on the case. Whether criminal charges will actually be filed is now in the hands of the District Attorney, who will examine the facts and make further decisions. The District Attorney's Office is currently investigating the case as a homicide and is awaiting the results of the autopsy, which could be crucial in determining criminal liability. In light of the impending review, several employees of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee who were involved in the incident were dismissed this week by Aimbridge Hospitality, the hotel operator. This follows growing calls for criminal action against the hotel staff.
