Siemens could, according to media reports, achieve a proud revenue of around three billion euros from the sale of its motors and large gear unit division Innomotics. According to insider information, both the Japanese industrial conglomerate Nidec and the American private equity firm KPS Capital Partners have expressed interest in Innomotics. As reported by the agency Bloomberg overnight to Tuesday, citing informed sources, both companies have been invited to participate in the second round of the bidding process. It is unclear whether any additional interested parties will enter the competition for Innomotics. A Siemens spokesperson has not yet commented on these speculations.

At the presentation of the financial figures in early February, Siemens emphasized that there is no time pressure for Innomotics. The subsidiary, which employs over 15,000 people, now operates largely independently. CEO Roland Busch had explained that all options for the future of Innomotics are being examined, including a sale and a possible initial public offering.

Already in January, "Handelsblatt" had reported citing insiders that Siemens is aiming for a selling price of over three billion euros. According to "Handelsblatt's" sources, the planned sale is to be completed by September. Siemens shares react slightly negatively to the speculations on the stock market. The price at XETRA loses 0.17 percent and stands at 180.32 euros.
