Siemens Mobility is investing 60 million USD in a new plant in New York to produce the first high-speed train in the USA and create 300 jobs.
Siemens Mobility has announced the construction of its first high-speed train factory in North America. The factory is to be built in Horseheads, New York, and will produce America's first high-speed train, the American Pioneer 220. This train will be used by the company Brightline West on the route between Las Vegas and Southern California.
Production at the new plant is scheduled to begin in 2026, with Siemens Mobility planning an investment of around 60 million USD. The plant will cover an area of nearly 28,000 square meters and create around 300 jobs in various fields, including electromechanical assembly, quality management, logistics, and supply chain management.
This decision marks a significant step in American infrastructure and demonstrates Siemens' commitment to advancing cutting-edge mobility solutions in the North American market.
