German Cloud Provider IONOS Receives Major Contract from Federal Administration for Development of a Highly Secure Cloud Solution

The framework agreement stipulates a ceiling of 410 million euros. The "private enterprise cloud" developed for the federal administration will be operated by the Federal Information Technology Center (ITZBund) and is certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). A unique feature of this cloud solution is the "air gapping" concept, whereby the platform is not connected to the public internet, thus offering a high standard of security.

The decision for IONOS reflects the confidence in the company's ability to offer a solution that meets high security requirements and represents an important step towards a digital and efficient administration. The IT applications of the federal government that operate via this platform include, for example, the driving suitability register and the BAföG student financial aid system.

The order drove IONOS shares to a record high on Tuesday and is seen as a flagship project for the company and the German cloud market. The major contract has shown positive effects on the stock market not only for IONOS but also for the parent company United Internet.

This development marks a significant milestone for IONOS and highlights the growth potential in the cloud services sector. The implementation of the project will begin in the second half of the year, with financial impacts becoming significantly visible in the coming years.
