Intel secures significant financial investor for new factory construction in Ireland. According to a report by the "Wall Street Journal", an investment vehicle from Apollo is providing more than eleven billion US dollars (10.2 billion euros). The agreement could take place in the coming weeks.

Alongside Apollo, other investment firms such as KKR and the infrastructure investor Stonepeak also showed interest in the financing. Ultimately, Apollo was selected as the favorite. This financing is crucial for Intel, as expanding production capacities incurs significant costs. Building a state-of-the-art factory can cost up to 20 billion dollars.

Two years ago, Intel had already concluded a similar deal for 30 billion dollars with Brookfield Asset Management. In this agreement, Intel took over 51 percent of the costs for factories in Arizona and retained the majority in the entity that will hold the production facilities.

Intel is currently investing substantial funds into expanding its capacity to meet the growing demand for semiconductors and to strengthen its market position. The strategic partnership with Apollo allows the chip giant to share the financial burden while simultaneously driving expansion.

The Intel stock responded positively to the news and was temporarily trading 2.33 percent higher at 30.55 US dollars on the NASDAQ.
