The Hamburg Regional Court has again dismissed a lawsuit against the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer BioNTech. According to the verdict, the plaintiff was unable to sufficiently prove that the vaccine was responsible for the complaints she claimed.

In the decision, the judge of the civil chamber emphasized that the submitted medical documents were insufficient to conclusively demonstrate the causal connection between the vaccinations and the alleged health impairments. The plaintiff had demanded at least 150,000 euros in compensation for pain and suffering, as she was suffering from symptoms such as upper body pain, limb swelling, exhaustion, and sleep disorders after three vaccinations.

Already in March, the Hamburg Regional Court had dismissed a similar lawsuit against BioNTech. Nationwide, about 100 comparable cases have been heard so far. Whether the doctor will appeal the current verdict remains to be seen. She has a deadline of one month for this. The verdict is therefore not yet legally binding.

The BioNTech stock showed little reaction to the latest development and temporarily traded 0.25 percent higher at 118.69 US dollars on NASDAQ.
