Fuel prices continue to rise: Diesel reaches new record high
Crude oil prices and CO₂ taxes are driving fuel prices further up, while targeted refueling times allow for savings.
Fuel prices in Germany have risen again, reaching a new five-week high. Diesel, in particular, has become significantly more expensive, according to the ADAC. On Tuesday, the nationwide average price for a liter of diesel was 1.69 euros, 10.4 cents more than five weeks ago. The price for E10 also climbed 1 cent compared to the previous week, averaging 1.741 euros per liter.
As a result, fuel prices are rising for the fifth consecutive week.
One way to save, according to the experts of the automobile club, is choosing the right time to refuel. In the evening, fuel prices are usually lower than in the morning, according to ADAC. Drivers could slightly reduce their refueling costs through targeted planning.
