The French Gas Company Air Liquide Recorded a Decline in Revenue in the First Quarter Due to Unfavorable Exchange Rate Effects and a Drop in Energy Prices. The Company Reported that Revenue Fell by 7.3 Percent to 6.65 Billion Euros, While Analysts had Anticipated a Revenue of 6.73 Billion Euros, According to a Consensus by Vara Research.

Despite the decline in nominal revenue, sales would have increased by 2.1 percent, adjusted for currency effects and changes in energy prices, which are passed on to large industrial customers in accordance with contracts. This suggests an underlying strength in the business model of Air Liquide.

The company remains optimistic about its financial outlook and confirmed its expectation to increase the operating margin and report higher earnings this year, adjusted for currency fluctuations.

Despite challenging global conditions and the report of declining revenue, Air Liquide's stock temporarily lost 1.23 percent on the EURONEXT in Paris, quoting at 188.22 euros. The company continues to see positive prospects for the future, supported by its ability to adapt to changing market conditions.
