The Indian embassy announced that the victims died due to the use of a power generator that was inappropriately positioned near an indoor area.
According to initial reports from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs, everything suggests that the generator was the trigger of the incident. Although the exact cause of death is still under investigation, it is suspected that carbon monoxide poisoning may have played a role.
Gudauri, located about north of the Georgian capital Tbilisi, attracts numerous tourists every year who appreciate the impressive mountain landscape and excellent skiing conditions.
