The second season of the highly anticipated series "Squid Game" promises to become even more captivating than the first, with a host of new characters and thrilling challenges. Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the continuation of the Korean cult series will once again enthrall viewers with its dystopian setting. At the first global promotion event in Lucca, Italy, Hwang revealed that the third season is already in post-production. He also hinted that an English-language version might be in the planning stages. The first season of "Squid Game" broke all records and became the most-watched series on Netflix of all time since its release in 2021. Hwang and lead actor Lee Jung-jae received Emmy Awards for their outstanding work, marking the first time that Asians and a non-English language series achieved this recognition. Given the tremendous success, the series was inevitably extended; the second season premieres on December 26, while the finale is expected in 2025. In the new season, the character Gi-hun, portrayed by Lee, returns to the games—not to win, but to end them. The thriller series tells the story of indebted participants who compete in deadly children's games for a fortune. Lee assured that his character has changed; this time, Gi-hun seeks revenge and justice. Additionally, there is speculation that David Fincher, known for "Fight Club," is working on an English-language remake. Hwang expressed respect for Fincher's work but was unable to confirm any official details yet.
