Siemens plans a strategic move to significantly strengthen its position in the software sector. The German technology group has announced the acquisition of Altair Engineering for a hefty 10 billion US dollars, including debt – the largest acquisition in the company's history. The agreement stipulates that Siemens will pay Altair shareholders 113 dollars per share. This offer represents a 19 percent premium over Altair's closing price on October 21. This agreement confirms a previous report by Bloomberg News, which stated that both companies were on the verge of reaching an agreement. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025.
