Nvidia Unleashes AI Visions at CES 2025

CES 2025 kicked off this year with a bang: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang presented the company's ambitious AI plans for 2025, both for consumers and businesses, in his highly anticipated keynote. Huang unveiled a variety of new software technologies designed to support humanoid robots and enable diverse AI applications. A highlight of the presentation was the introduction of new gaming hardware, including the GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card for desktop PCs, priced at $1,999. Another central topic of the speech was a spectacularly compact AI chip, the GB10. This chip is a derivative of the powerful GB200 platform and combines a Blackwell graphics processor unit with a Grace central processor unit. Impressed customers include tech giants like Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Tesla, who already use the larger GB200 version. The GB10 chip is not positioned as a platform for data centers but will be used in an innovative desktop system called Project DIGITS, offering impressive computing power in a compact form. Nvidia expects it to be available as early as May. In addition to the chip, Nvidia introduced the Cosmos platform, dedicated to the development of physical AI systems such as robots and autonomous vehicles. Cosmos utilizes what are called World Foundation Models to simulate real-world conditions in virtual environments. This aims to help companies develop software for robots and autonomous vehicles more efficiently without having to invest in expensive hardware. Additionally, Nvidia explained the applications of the Isaac GROOT Blueprint software, which, through Apple's Vision Pro headset, can teach humanoid robots to move in specific scenarios. In the automotive market, Nvidia serves companies like Toyota, Continental, and Aurora with advanced technologies for driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.
