Senator J.D. Vance from Ohio has set ambitious goals to raise funds for the Republican presidential campaign. In his role as Vice Presidential candidate for former President Donald J. Trump, Vance is now prioritizing fundraising efforts to convert his relationships with donors into cash contributions. While fundraising traditionally falls within the responsibilities of a vice-presidential candidate, Vance plans to undertake this role more decisively than usual. Thanks to his previous work in Silicon Valley's technology sector, Vance has unique contacts with major donors who may have been hesitant to support the Republican contender so far. Over the next few weeks, at least six fundraising galas are scheduled, according to invitations obtained by the New York Times. On Wednesday, Vance will appear in Fort Wayne, Indiana, at an event organized by businessman Bill Bean, a long-time friend and supporter of former Vice President Mike Pence. Bean expects up to 400 attendees. On Thursday, Vance and Trump are the keynote speakers at a fundraising gala in Doral, Florida. Additional funding events are scheduled for Friday in Oklahoma and Saturday in Minneapolis. Next week, Vance will travel to California, where he will lead two events, including an interesting event on Monday in Silicon Valley, where he once worked as a junior venture capitalist and biotech manager. In Palo Alto, he is set to host a dinner, although no hosts are listed on the invitation, unlike the other events. On July 31, Vance will be welcomed in Coalinga, in Central California’s agricultural corridor, by John Harris, a prominent agribusiness entrepreneur. Richard Spencer, a significant Republican fundraiser in California, is also among the hosts of this luncheon. Trump opted for a running mate capable of securing substantial funds, and candidates like Vance leveraged this to showcase their connections with donors. Vance is also expected to lead smaller fundraising efforts, which, although raising smaller amounts, are still crucial for the campaign. Living in Cincinnati, Vance must balance his campaign travels with his Senate duties in Washington. Scheduled for the upcoming Saturday, he has a public event in Minnesota, while focusing on fundraising activities.
