The conglomerate Honeywell International may be facing a significant restructuring. At the suggestion of activist investor Elliott Investment Management, the company is currently exploring a possible spin-off of its aerospace sector. At the beginning of the year, Honeywell initiated a corresponding study, the results of which are still being evaluated. A more detailed update is expected as part of the fourth-quarter results. The aerospace division accounts for more than a third of Honeywell's revenues and is the centerpiece of the company's activities. Under the leadership of Vimal Kapur, who took over as CEO last year, such a spin-off could represent a significant change in direction. Kapur has already made changes to the portfolio to optimize the stock's performance, with special focus on aerospace, energy transition, and building and manufacturing automation systems. Elliott, which recently announced an investment of more than five billion US dollars in Honeywell, making it its largest single investment, is pushing for the company to be split into two independent firms. One entity is to focus on automation while the other further develops the aerospace division. Modern Financial Markets Data
