The Taiwanese silicon wafer manufacturer GlobalWafers Co. has taken a significant step towards expanding its production in the USA. The company secured financial support of up to 406 million USD through the U.S. Chips and Science Act to establish new production facilities in Texas and Missouri. The U.S. Department of Commerce announced that this agreement represents a significant development of a preliminary agreement announced in July.
