A remarkable step towards sustainable aviation takes to the skies today: The first flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport operating on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) embarks on an eco-friendly future. Montana Renewables, known as North America's largest SAF producer in 2024, has delivered its initial supply of 7,000 gallons of SAF to the airport, produced from winter camelina grown in Minnesota. Montana Renewables' innovative production and blending technology forms the backbone of this groundbreaking initiative. The SAF was delivered to Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport by Shell Aviation. Delta Air Lines' Flight 2732 to New York (LGA) has the honor of being the inaugural flight. This milestone represents not only a new era in aviation but also underscores the collaborative efforts between leading companies in the energy and transportation sectors. It makes a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and marks a small yet meaningful step towards more environmentally friendly travel.
